Stealth campsite to Manchester Center - 6.0 miles hiked today - 1654.0 total AT miles hiked to date - 539.1 miles to go.
Nero day today as we hiked to Manchester Center. One stop at Prospect Rock before heading down the mountain. We reached the road to town around 11 am, and hitched a ride into town. We were picked up right away, as apparently the locals are used to thru hikers heading to town. Firewalker was about an hour ahead of us, and Whipporwill and DEFCON a couple of hours behind. We were all ultimately headed to the Green Mountain hostel for the night.
In town, we stopped first at the local outfitters where I picked up a few items that needed replacing. We ran into the Vintage Hikers, who were zeroing in town. It had been a month since we’d last seen them, so it was good to catch up. From there, we did our resupply at the local Price Chopper grocery, where we ran into the hostel owner in the parking lot. He took our packs, so we were free to grab lunch.
Lunch was at the Firefly diner, with a huge avocado jalapeño burger, split pea soup and onion rings, followed by a stop at the local Ben&Jerrys for ice cream. By mid afternoon we got a ride to the hostel and did showers and laundry. The rest of the crew arrived and we all had dinner together in the hostel dining room.
Tomorrow we head back out into the rain and mud to continue the journey.

Now that food looks mighty good. Thank you for the pics. They are truly wonderful. I can say I have seen the trail although I have never and probably will never walk it. You have a good eye for what and how to capture it. Keep up the great work and may God continue to give you strength til the end.
