Day 116, Wednesday June 23, 2021

1st Corinthians

Hemlock Springs shelter campsite to Canopus Lake campsite - 18.5 miles hiked today - 1427.5 total AT miles hiked to date.

Today was long on miles but short on views.  We started early, planning to stop 3 miles in at the Appalachian Trail Market.  We arrived there about 8:30, had a hot breakfast (I had a BLT), and did a small resupply.  From there it was a full day of rocky PUDs (pointless ups and downs), culminating in the arrival at Canopus lake.  There we were able to set up tents near the “beach”.  Our current  tramily (trail family) has expanded to include Whippoorwill, DEFCON, and Bam Bam.  They’ve been with us on and off for the past week or so and plan to travel with us for a while.  The wrist continues to heal, and for now is just an inconvenience, but no real hindrance to hiking.

On a sad note, Rick is off the trail for now, dealing with his foot and knee issues.  His plan is to heal up and head back out later this year.  Keep him in your prayers.

Until next time…
