Day 130, Wednesday July 7, 2021

Sherman Brook campsite to Congdon Shelter campsite - 12.4 miles hiked today - 1609.6 total AT miles hiked to date

The good news is that it didn’t rain anymore today. The bad news is that the trail was still one long mud pit, making every step a challenge.   As was the case yesterday, it slowed me down considerably.  Again I came up short against my planned mileage.  Hopefully I can make that up in the next week or two.

That said, I did pass two more milestones today, I entered Vermont, and I passed the 1600 mile marker.  Actually I passed 4 versions of the 1600 marker, all within 1/2 mile of each other.

Beyond the milestones, there wasn’t much else of interest today.  Passed a couple of ponds, but no scenic overlooks.  Just a lot of mud.  Tomorrow is another day.

Until next time…
